went there on 3/22/14 and it was a horrendous dining experience with bad food and worse service. The sea food was over cooked and served cold and the server was clueless and could not care less. They have enjoyed a reputation from when wards bridge inn was a good restaurant many years ago but it is not the same owners and the food has gone down hill. The wine list is crap and very limited and both the wine list and menu as well as the had chef need a total renovation.

I've had brunch/lunch items and have been pleased every time. 3 out of 3 times being happy is hard to find, but not here. They have the most delicious chicken enchilada soup that I wish was all u can eat (but maybe it's a good thing that it isn't because I would never stop). The service has always been pleasant and accommodating.

I have been driving past the Wards Bridge Inn for many years and always thought it was a run down building with a local mom and pop restaurant. Well I was I wrong. The family wanted something different than the chain restaurants so we decided to tray out Wards Bridge Inn. All I can say was fantastic! The atmosphere is great and very comfortable. The food is best I have ever had. I had the Calamari for an appetizer and it was the best I have ever had. The seafood is very fresh and well prepared with huge portions. What I really like is that the menu is very diverse permitting something for everyone. Lastly are the desserts. Again a nice selection and a good treat to complete the meal. If your ever in Montgomery NY don't pass by the Wards Bridge Inn, you won't regret it.

Entered this establishment without any recommendations or knowledge of this cozy friendly jewel. What a beautiful menu! Difficult to choose with so many lovely offerings. A specials sheet made life more complicated. An Alaskan Halibut encrusted delight served with lobster mashed potatoes and smothered with a lobster gravy. Served with sugar snap peas. I took my time with this memorable most pleasing dish. Started with a very nice French Onion hot and so cheesy soup and a simple but fresh salad. Only issue was choosing among 3 chocolate cakes for the finale. Yes there were several other treats offered on the tray but I had tunnel vision once the chocolate dishes came in to view. There's an interesting pub menu available. Service is friendly and down to earth. Finally there's a sweet potato encrusted salmon dish waiting for me on my next visit.

It's a quaint old building with a few little dining rooms. There was only one other couple eating in the place and I couldn't figure out why. Maybe the weather... The waitress was obviously well trained, she didn't hover, but she maintained the table, kept the beverages full, and tidied the table at the appropriate time without interrupting our conversation. The food was excellent and the portion size was perfect. I had a Thai shrimp appetizer followed with the Wards Bridge salad, had pears and nuts and chicken ...Awesome! She had a sweet potato crusted salmon. I don't like salmon but that was scintillating...we should have had dessert.... It was a cozy, romantic evening, and I think this place would be perfect at the holidays.

Best place in town for a nice meal. Never had a bad experience. While we go for the atmosphere and amazing entrees their wings are out of this world! My personal favorite is the lobster and shrimp risotto. Love their bread and garlic butter too. Dinner and drinks, dinner or drinks, you can't go wrong.

Excellent Dinner! A party of 10 on a Friday night, we were well taken care of! There was a lobster special with spinach risotto that was excellent. Others had the strip steak, rigatoni with sausage and chicken and other entrees. All were delicious. I didn't have dessert but those who did raved about it, especially the creme brûlée!

Had lunch there yesterday with a friend. It was not good. We both had the Harvest Turkey and if I was the owner I certainly would not serve something like that to my customers. My friend didn't like it either. In place of the turkey I ordered a plain burger which was just ok. I guess I won't be trying dinner there.

Had dinner there last night. Steak was excellent as usual. The food was superb, and, even better - the desserts were amazing - (my son asked me to add that part). We'll be back again!

A Perfect Dining Experience The Wards Bridge Inn offers everything a restaurant should, a pleasant staff and a great menu. The dinner was served at a nice pace, not too fast or slow. I can't wait to return. It's a little more expensive than other restaurants but it's very good and you won't regret it.

Ward's serves up traditional Italian fare with a little flare. It's a welcome break from your typical spaghetti with meatball joint, even if it is a little more pricey. The bread is served warm and crunchy with a house-made herbed butter. The fried calamari comes with a horseradish dipping sauce, along with the traditional fradiavlo as to not upset those purists. The salad? Served with a crumbly Gorgonzola cheese. It's little details like this that separates Ward's from tradition, and their competition, Ward's is a great restaurant to go out to dinner for that something special everyone likes in a meal. It's traditional enough that picky eaters could find themselves content, and daring enough to make you want to come back.

OH NO! I got invited to another hole in the wall! Boy was I wrong! Every thing was cooked to perfection! My Caesar salad I almost licked the bowl to get every bit! And I got a kids meal because I was not very hungry but the pop corn shrimp was DELISH!! Remember this is my opinion for you to base on!

This place did not have the courtesy to return my email about our anniversary reservations. I know it was a last minute request but at least reply. This also happened once before but I wanted to give it another try. Very poor customer service nit to return an inquiry,

I am here working and from out of town. Someone local recommended I try the Inn. I was seated upstairs and was given bread. I watched two servers take care of tables both in front of me and beside me. One table arrived after me. After fifteen minutes i dicided to leave after watching the second table placing thier drink and food orders. Clearly the servers for what ever reason dicided to ignore me. I walked out and found Wild Fire were I was immediately seated and taken care of.

I am truly perplexed. This used to be a GREAT restaurant. I have not been in many years and was looking forward to it. But...our salads were limp and tasteless, our entrees were ok (not great) but they took FOREVER to arrive, we had to ask three times for dessert menus and my house red wine was served chilled. Very disappointed!

I have this place 4 bc this was the best steak I've ever had! Atmosphere I great, place is rustic and staff are friendly. Granted I went with friends who are friends with the owners, and were treated like royalty. My steak was excellent! I like everything super well done and that it was! Except when I cut into my steak, the juices oozed out, it was so tender and the flavors were to die for. Came with garlic mashed and a veggie. Had crème brûlée for dessert and it was one of the best ones I've ever had! Only downside to this place is the parking.

Ward's is part of my routine. I either sit in the dining room when eating with friends, or pick up food and bring it home, or eat at the bar at few times a month. My friends have a young baby and they always accommodate us to stand up and walk with the baby and never have an issue. It is not a quite restaurant so a perfect atmosphere for family dining. I live in the area and am not a fan of chain restaurants. I particularly like the herb butter served with the bread. My favorites are their calamari, steak fritz, and filet portobella mushroom salad. Every now and again I go with one of their specials and most are very good! Definitely someplace to check out if you are in the area.

They usually have a fantastic dessert tray so be sure to save room. Staff is hit or miss. I'm on the younger side of their usual patrons and I bring my son about half the time, however I'm a good tipper. I can tell that when they haven't served me before and think I'll probably be a lousy tipper that the service reflects that. I've worked in foodservice ladies, I would never cheap you out. The last server that treated us that way actually came back after she took the check and thanked us. Hopefully next time we have her, she will be nicer. Rande is always a fabulous server and has never been anything but gracious to our family and friends when we bring them in. The other ladies could take a page from her book and not pre-judge patrons. But again, I must encourage you to save room for dessert because it really is good.

I had wrote this post as this took place back in the back in the 1980's since then they have new owners now. I guess things can & do change over time.

I have been to Wards Bridge many times under several different owners. Currently the menu is typical continental, seafood, steaks, chicken, and ribs. I had a sausage pasta which was very good. We were there on a Saturday night and the restaurant and bar was very busy. We had reservations and our table was ready as soon as we wanted it. The general opinion at the table (amongst our table of six) was that the food was good, but the service was excellent. Despite being busy, we never had to wait for drink refills, bread refills, etc. Everything came as ordered and the waitress checked back with us often. I would definitely recommend this place . They also have a simpler (and less expensive) bar menu.
